Group Bornemanni

A group of species inhabiting the mountains of New Guinea.
Common characteristics are the black underside of the forewing and the type of uncus and scent-scale.
In 2011, Henk van Mastrigt and Chris Davenport have sorted our nais complex showing that Delias zebra is only a form of Delias nais. We follow this new classification on this website.
The recent discovery (2017) of Delias maaikeae in the Cyclop Mounts makes us wondering if there are still some species of this group to be discovered somewhere in New Guinea !
