Notes on Delias lytaea :
It is quite rare, especially the female, and not found in many collections.
Delias lytaea has been previously wrongly located in New Ireland (see The Delias of the Bismarck Archipelago, Müller & Wills 2013). Its "sister-species" on New Ireland is Delias laknekei and they are nowadays thought to be parapatric.
ssp. smithi is a locality error.
